Former Minister of Education at it AGAIN!!! A past pupil of Kuliyapitiya Central, he is hand-in-glove with the Education Ministry Secretary to bend rules and procedures to bring in an INFAMOUS Principal to Royal College, Colombo. This infamous man’s personal file is full of evidence to his misdoings.

It is reliably learnt that the former Minister of Education is up to his old antics - trying to change the system to cater to his whims and fancies!

He is said to be working had in glove with the Ministry Secretary to bend the rules and regulations on appointment principals to tier-1 public schools in an attempt to bring in his own henchman to the helm.

Background

• Using undue influence derived from the powers that be, the former minister managed to stop the revocation of a Ministry circular that allowed students to study at the school closest to residence. Thereby, he got his child to sit in the grade 1 class room at Royal during a time when Covid restrictions were removed and the circular was redundant. The child remained in the class without being enrolled in the school registry.

Consequence - Hell hath no fury!

• Furious that his child was not enrolled into Royal, despite there being no legitimate way to admit the child (he had not even applied for Royal College grade 1 admissions), the ex-minister set in motion a series of events and investigations against Mr.Jayalath the former Principal of Royal College who refused to dance to his tune
• Having failed to find Mr.Jayalath guilty through the formal inquiry, all forms of pressure was brought on Mr.Jayalath to "Voluntarily" request a transfer ... Yeah Right! We all know how that works in this country!
• Against all forms of natural justice and ethics, the inquiring officer was appointed as the acting principal reminding the age old Singhalese saying නඩුත් හාමුදුරුවන්ගේ, බඩුත් හාමුදුරුවන්ගේ"!

Conspiracy to get his henchman in ...

• Come the time to replace this puppet of an acting principal, the former minister is reportedly trying all ways and means to get his henchman in - the incumbent principal of DS Senanayaka College
• These attempts are despite:
• the Principal of Mahanama scoring the highest points amongst those who applied for the post of Principal Royal College

                  AND

• despite fact that the incumbent principal of DS Senanayaka, W.V.A.S.Sampath, not having applied for the post concerned

• It is learnt that the awarded marks are being changed by shifting the goal posts to suit the minister's henchman ... someone who has a shady past as clearly seen from his personal file records (see images)
• The ministry secretary is apparently hand in glove so that he can secure a further extension (he is already on an extension beyond retirement age) to his appointment going further beyond the retirement age
